Greek Salad

About this Recipe:

NavidNavid: A bowl of delicious and healthy Greek salad. This is a mixture of cucumber, tomato, red onion, olive and feta cheese. You can add your other favorite ingredients such as lettuce, green pepper or avocado.

Main Ingredients:

English cucumber: 1/2, sliced
Red onion: 1 small, thinly sliced
Plum tomatoes: 3-4
Cherry tomatoes: a few
Olives: 1/4 cup
Feta cheese: 100 grams, crumbled


Dressing Ingredients:

Dried oregano: 1 tsp
Olive oil: 3 tbsp
Lemon juice: 1 tbsp
Wine vinegar: 1 tbsp
Salt
Pepper


Directions:

1. Blend all dressing ingredients and whisk until smooth.

2. Cut tomatoes into pieces.

3. Toss all the main ingredients and dressing in a large bowl until evenly coated.

Greek Pizza

Greek Pizza

 Sara: Perhaps the main ingredients for a Greek pizza are feta cheese and Kalamata olive. Replace Kalamata olive with black live if you cannot find it. Just make sure to add feta cheese 2-3 min to the end of baking otherwise it will melt.
 

 

Main Ingredients:

Tomatoes: 2 medium
Bell Peppers: 1 medium
Kalamata Olive: 1 cup, pitted
Feta Cheese: 100 grams, crumbled
Red onion: 1 small
Mozzarella cheese: 1 cup, shredded
Tomato Sauce: 1 cup, or enough to cover the pizza dough (recipe here)
Pizza Dough: 1 large (recipe here)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface. Transfer to the baking and bake until puffed and beginning to color, 8 to 10 minutes.

3. Spread the pizza sauce over the pizza crust and top with tomatoes, peppers, onions, and olives.

4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and bake for 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese has melted.  

۵. Sprinkle feta cheese and bake for 2 or 3 more minutes

Main Ingredients:

Butter puff pastry sheet: 1 (about 1/2 pound), thawed according to the package instruction
Egg: 1 (preferably room temperature)
Muenster cheese: 1/2 cup shredded, (OR Monterey Jack cheese or Mozzarella cheese)
Parmesan cheese: 1/4 cup grated
Ricotta cheese: 1/2 cup
Pepper: 1/8 tsp
Green onion: 1, chopped
Garlic powder: 1/8 tsp
Frozen chopped spinach: 1 pkg. (about 10 ounces), thawed, and well drained

Bittersweet or semisweet chocolate: 8 oz, chopped
Water: 5 tbsp
Unsalted butter: 2 tbsp, room temperature
Sour cream: 1 tbsp, room temperature
Egg: 5, separated
Salt: a dash
Sugar: 1 tbsp

Ingredients: (4 servings)

• Shoulder lamb, 600 grams

• Medium onions, 3

• Iranian (sangak), middle-eastern, or pitta bread

• Cooking oil

• Salt

• Black pepper

• Turmeric


Directions:

Peel and thinly slice onions. Wash and cut meat into small pieces. Add onions and 3 glasses of hot water to meat and cook over medium heat for about 45 minutes (adding more hot water during cooking if necessary). Add salt, pepper, and turmeric, mix well and cook for a few more minutes. There should be no water left when cooking is over.

Grind (mince) the cooked meat or chop it finely using a sharp, large knife. Fry in oil over medium heat for about 15 minutes, then serve over bread with more bread covering the meat. Note that no rice is served with this dish. Beryani is a delicious dish from Esfahan.
